Academic and clinical professional with extensive training in Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery. Holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Diploma of the Thai Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Completed prestigious international fellowships in South Korea focusing on advanced endoscopic techniques. Currently serves as a Board member for the Asia Pacific Spine Society and AO Spine Faculty. Published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics including AI classification in spine surgery, surgical navigation, and endoscopic techniques.

A/Prof. Wongthawat Liawrungrueang is Assistant President of the Spine Society of Thailand, Former Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Former Chair of The Spine Division, and Former Head of the Orthopaedics Department at the University of Phayao. Wongthawat does research in the fields of Spine surgery, Orthopaedic surgery, Biomedical engineering, Algorithms and Software engineering. He currently serves as a Board member of the Asia Pacific Spine Society(APSS) and AO Spine Faculty.
